RIZZO performs site geotechnical evaluations and design of foundations, soil remediation, and plant interfaces. We address natural phenomena hazard events, support licensing with Regulatory Authorities e.g. Design Certification, ESP, COLA and resolve structural issues. We are a member of the Nuclear Energy Institute and involved in resolution of serveral topical issues. Our involvment in commercial NPP Applications as well as numerous government and defense nuclear related installations goes back decades and reaches across the world.
We provide world-class technical expertise in three broad service areas: Assessment of Natural Hazards; Site Response Studies; and Evaluation of Nuclear Structures, Systems, and Components for Hazard Loading. Specific services include the following:
Siting and Design for Natural Phenomena Hazard Events;
Hydrology / Geohydrology / Flood Hazard Evaluations;
Seismic Structural and Hazard Evaluations;
Seismic Ground Motion Studies;
Site Response and Soil Stability Analyses;
Seismic Margins and Seismic Risk Assessments;
Excavation and Foundation Design of Safety Class Structures;
SAR Chapter 2 Site Characterization;
Environmental Report Preparation;
Seismic Qualification of Equipment and Piping; and
Licensing Support.
The RIZZO QA Program includes procedures for field investigation, analysis and design and verification of computer software. It meets ASME NQA-1-1994, "Quality Assurance Requirements for Nuclear Facility Applications" and 10CFR 50, Appendix B. Our QA Program has been audited between 2006 - 2008 by the following:
