RIZZO performs a wide range of consulting and engineering activities related to civil structural design.  This range includes general engineering and design, various special analytical studies, conceptual design, and design verification and optimization.  Much of the firm’s present civil structural engineering activities are a direct outgrowth of work with retrofit and licensing of structures and components related to the power industry.  Through the successful execution of these projects, the staff has developed expertise and specialized capabilities in many areas of structural and foundation analysis and, simultaneously, an appreciation of the necessary balance between analysis and design.

RIZZO designs dams, hydroelectric facilities, intake structures, foundations for nuclear, gas, coal fired, and wind power plants, tunnels, shafts, and other underground structures.  We perform diverse analysis/design services using state-of-the-art engineering software.  More specifically, we provide structural and foundation engineering services for a wide range of civil works projects.  Our capabilities extend to all construction materials; senior-level staff members participate in code committees for organizations such as ASTM, ASCE, and ACI.
